The Fager Emil Titanium Loose Ring Bit with 16mm mouth is recommended by its maker if you’d describe your horse as follows:

Emil is a lightweight, durable, double-jointed titanium snaffle bit. Its simple, unique design is intended to offer the ultimate comfort to the horse. The whole of the bit surface, including the joints, is 100% smooth to allow complete fluidity and freedom in the mouth.
Emil is a great solution for sensitive horses who easily develop sores and cuts as it protects the bars and the flesh of the mouth.
The joints are specifically designed never to interfere with or push against the palate. The mouthpiece conforms naturally to the shape of the tongue while relieving the bars from constant pressure. The lightweight, straight design helps to promote more precise and direct communication down the reins.
Constructed using Fager’s Anoblast™ manufacturing technique, this is a high-quality, extremely durable bit. The gray color results from the production process; no additional coloring is used.
Fager bits always sit horizontally straight without a bigger bend forward. The reasoning behind this is to ensure that the bit maintains the correct balance point (BP) in the mouth, creating stability and clear communication for the horse. When a bit creates a bigger bend forward, it also moves the BP forward, detrimentally reducing the effectiveness of the rein aids. The balance point will remain, even if it has a slight bend over the tongue and upwards.

For manufacturer's defects, we'll extend the manufacturer's warranty to a maximum of 24 months, regardless of their individual policies. Manufacturer warranties longer than 24 months will be honored and supported by us as well up to the length of those warranties.
Exceptions: Safety items such as helmets and protective vests may only be returned within 30 days, with their original tags intact. Saddles and riding boots may be returned within 90 days, but are subject to a prorated refund based on usage. Used saddles may be returned for 30 days only. For everyone’s protection, treats and vet meds which have been opened are not returnable, and returned blankets must be clean and free of debris. Underwear is not returnable or exchangeable.

To protect all customers and ensure that every return or exchange is handled fairly, we may require a receipt or decline a return in these situations:
- Item was not purchased directly from Dover Saddlery. (It was purchased at a used tack sale or from a retailer or online seller other than Dover Saddlery.)
- Item is missing a label or has been defaced.
- No receipt and no valid identification in our stores.
- Item is wet, dirty, or contaminated, or until it has been cleaned. (For health and safety reasons, we cannot accept returns on used, defective, or poorly fitting blankets if they are UNWASHED.)
- Item has been lost, stolen, damaged, or misused.
- On rare occasions, based on the nature of prior transactions.
- Supplements have been opened or used.
- Multiple returns of the same item.
- Personalized items may not be returned unless defective.
