The Bates Innova® Mono+ Dressage Saddle offers ultra-close contact and a touch of luxury for every ride. The innovative monoflap design with quilted panel points, a narrow twist and a recessed stirrup channel ensures unrivaled feel and connection between you and your horse.
This dressage saddle is crafted of the finest quality European double-lined Opulence leather renowned for its ultra-soft, natural and grippy characteristics. Built on an Elastiflex Tree, it offers rider customization through the FlexiContourbloc and Adjustable Ergonomic Stirrup Bar and adjustability in fitting the horse with the EASY-CHANGE™ Fit Solution. Weight distribution is provided with the CAIR® Cushion system in Bates performance panels; saddle stability is offered through the running Y-Girthing system. Use a Phillips screwdriver #3 to adjust the tree of the saddle.
Description of features:
Elastiflex Tree has a rigid head to maintain clearance over the horse’s withers. Lateral flexion works with the horse’s muscular movements in every stride. Precision engineered to be lightweight, symmetrical and ultra-durable, this tree is guaranteed against breakage for the lifetime of the saddle (deemed to be 10 years under normal riding conditions).
EASY-CHANGE Fit Solution is comprised of the EASY-CHANGE Gullet system and the EASY-CHANGE Riser system. It offers a total saddle fitting solution for absolute horse comfort and rider peace of mind.
Select the optimal gullet width in the EASY-CHANGE Gullet system for the horse’s current shape and muscling. Make adjustments within the saddle panels for optimal balance and clearance with the EASY-CHANGE Riser system. All adjustments are measurable, symmetrical and completely reversible, ensuring total confidence in the saddle’s ability to be custom fitted to the horse’s changing shape for optimal comfort and performance.
CAIR cushions within generously sized panels offers performance advantages over traditional panel fillings in the way they distribute a rider’s weight and cushion a horse’s back. In distributing weight, air cushions continually mold to mirror the horse’s individual conformation and working muscles. They ensure a close, even contact over a much larger weight-bearing area and help eliminate instances of pressure points.
In cushioning the horse’s back, the dynamic nature of the air ensures it works in synergy with the horse’s muscles, rather than the horse’s muscles working against a static medium. Additionally, air provides the ultimate shock absorption, reducing instances of trauma to the horse’s muscles in work.
The large saddle panels maximize the weight-bearing surface on the horse’s back. The optimized area results in a reduction in pressure per square inch. Coupled with a wide and even channel, the panel design supports the horse’s working muscles and allows optimal movement in the horse’s shoulders.
FlexiContourbloc is anatomically shaped to the rider’s leg, allowing the leg to fit in and behind the block to support the individual’s position in maximized comfort and security. This bloc can be move forward, backward or on the precise angle to mirror the rider’s individual riding position.
Adjustable Ergonomic Stirrup Bar allows effortless horse and rider alignment. This design allows the rider to alter the positioning of the stirrup bar, resulting in complete control over his or her preferred riding position.
Y-Girthing system enables customized adjustments for the horse’s individual conformation. It maximizes saddle stability as it secures the saddle from both front and rear.
QUICK-CHANGE Girth Points offer peace of mind that the girth points can be fitted to factory standard throughout the life of the saddle. This girth system also allows customization by a saddler or saddle fitter. The unique design ensures the girth points are highly durable and ultra slim-profile, which supports a close contact feel and increased comfort for horse and rider.
All Bates® saddles feature the finest, hand selected European leather. You can be confident that the leather in a Bates® saddle is the best in the world, and if cared for, will offer many years of riding. Leather is a natural product and its life relies on maintaining a certain level of moisture. By following the steps below your saddle will perform for many years.
Prior to being ridden your new saddle should be liberally dressed with Bates® Leather Balsam. The balsam offers a surface barrier and protects against wear, water and sweat. Allow it to soak overnight for maximum absorption and protective sealing.
Regular cleaning of the saddle with glycerine saddle soap and a damp cloth or sponge will remove dirt, which can scratch the surface. Follow the cleaning with an application of Bates Leather Balsam or Bates Leather Cream to all areas of the saddle that are not suede. Apply a heavier application to high wear areas.
Keeping your Bates® saddle clean will help it achieve the traditional, rich patina of aged, worked leather and your saddle will bring you excellent years of service.

For manufacturer's defects, we'll extend the manufacturer's warranty to a maximum of 24 months, regardless of their individual policies. Manufacturer warranties longer than 24 months will be honored and supported by us as well up to the length of those warranties.
Exceptions: Safety items such as helmets and protective vests may only be returned within 30 days, with their original tags intact. Saddles and riding boots may be returned within 90 days, but are subject to a prorated refund based on usage. Used saddles may be returned for 30 days only. For everyone’s protection, treats and vet meds which have been opened are not returnable, and returned blankets must be clean and free of debris. Underwear is not returnable or exchangeable.
Special Conditions
To protect all customers and ensure that every return or exchange is handled fairly, we may require a receipt or decline a return in these situations:
- Item was not purchased directly from Dover Saddlery. (It was purchased at a used tack sale or from a retailer or online seller other than Dover Saddlery.)
- Item is missing a label or has been defaced.
- No receipt and no valid identification in our stores.
- Item is wet, dirty, or contaminated, or until it has been cleaned. (For health and safety reasons, we cannot accept returns on used, defective, or poorly fitting blankets if they are UNWASHED.)
- Item has been lost, stolen, damaged, or misused.
- On rare occasions, based on the nature of prior transactions.
- Supplements have been opened or used.
- Multiple returns of the same item.
- Personalized items may not be returned unless defective.
