Equine Joints
Joints connect bones and enable movement. Synovial joints are the most common and movable type. The bones in a synovial joint are covered with a thin layer of shock-absorbing cartilage that provides a smooth surface for movement. The synovial membrane secretes fluid to lubricate, cushion, and nourish the joint.

Joint Supplements
Healthy joints are essential for comfort and mobility. Aging, wear, injury, or disease can damage joints. A variety of joint supplements can help improve mobility, reduce discomfort, and limit inflammation.
Supplements often contain hyaluronic acid, chondroitin sulfate, and glucosamine. Many also include anti-inflammatories to support horses with existing joint issues.
Pregnant Mares
Before feeding supplements to pregnant mares or foals, always consult your veterinarian.
