PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: Stübben Equi-Soft® Girth
The Stübben Equi-Soft® Girth maximizes your horse’s ability to breathe and move freely. An innovative design, the girth is made from quality leather with stainless steel hardware that make it durable and easy to clean. It must be used with Stübben Equi-Soft Girth Padding, which is sold separately to enable you to choose the perfect padding option (Vachette Leather, Neoprene or Lambskin).
Unique features offer multiple benefits:
- Elastic rings expand and contract with the horse’s breathing, ensuring constant and uniform pressure distribution. This allows the horse to expand its chest comfortably.
- Uniform pressure distribution is achieved with the girth’s ergonomic and fan-shaped design. It wraps around the horse’s chest from below and slightly to the sides, offering freedom of movement while significantly reducing girthiness.
- Stress is reduced during girth adjustments as the elastic rings reduce girth pressure. The effect minimizes stress levels in the horse.
- Lower heart rates were revealed in a scientific study on various girths. The study demonstrated that all horses showed a significantly lower heart rate when using the Equi-Soft girth.
- Interchangeable padding options let you choose from three different types, all easily replaceable through the hook-and-loop system. Padding is required for the girth and must be purchased in your preference of material separately.
Options include leather in black, ebony and tobacco and sizes from 20 to 34.
Padding (or cover) options include:
- Vachette leather offers both comfort and durability. Leather is an excellent material choice due to its compatibility with horses.
- Lambskin padding naturally promotes blood circulation and provides breathability, moisture wicking, temperature regulation. It also helps prevent bruises, scars, chafing and pressure sores on a properly sized and clean girth.
- Neoprene, a soft and flexible material, is well-tolerated even sensitive horses. It remains supple even when exposed to sweat and is remarkably easy to clean.
Note: For proper use of the Equi-Soft girth, the padding (cover) must be positioned correctly on the girth with the holes free. The center of the girth should be placed centrally on the horse’s girth line. Even tension on both sides of the girth is recommended for optimal pressure distribution. Do not tighten the girth too much, as it may hinder chest expansion.

For manufacturer's defects, we'll extend the manufacturer's warranty to a maximum of 24 months, regardless of their individual policies. Manufacturer warranties longer than 24 months will be honored and supported by us as well up to the length of those warranties.
Exceptions: Safety items such as helmets and protective vests may only be returned within 30 days, with their original tags intact. Saddles and riding boots may be returned within 90 days, but are subject to a prorated refund based on usage. Used saddles may be returned for 30 days only. For everyone’s protection, treats and vet meds which have been opened are not returnable, and returned blankets must be clean and free of debris. Underwear is not returnable or exchangeable.
Special Conditions
To protect all customers and ensure that every return or exchange is handled fairly, we may require a receipt or decline a return in these situations:
- Item was not purchased directly from Dover Saddlery. (It was purchased at a used tack sale or from a retailer or online seller other than Dover Saddlery.)
- Item is missing a label or has been defaced.
- No receipt and no valid identification in our stores.
- Item is wet, dirty, or contaminated, or until it has been cleaned. (For health and safety reasons, we cannot accept returns on used, defective, or poorly fitting blankets if they are UNWASHED.)
- Item has been lost, stolen, damaged, or misused.
- On rare occasions, based on the nature of prior transactions.
- Supplements have been opened or used.
- Multiple returns of the same item.
- Personalized items may not be returned unless defective.
