PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: Freejump® Adults’ Airbag Vest*
The Freejump® Adults’ Airbag Vest is the first equestrian air vest to be approved by the NF S72- 800-2022 standard. France is the first country to adopt a standard governing the manufacture of equestrian airbags (PPE–Personal Protective Equipment). While waiting for a European harmonization, the NF S72-800-2022 standard provides riders with increased protection by regulating the protective surface, the speed of the inflation and by imposing much more severe impact tests on the vests.
The Freejump Airbag is the result of innovation, concern for the performance and concern for the comfort and safety of riders. Martin Fuchs has been leading the way since July 2019 (CHIO Aachen) using the Freejump Airbag.
The Freejump Airbag is worn close to the body under a compatible jacket or can be worn over a thin layer of clothing, such as a T-shirt, show jacket or thin pullover. Compatible jackets bear the “Freejump Airbag Technology” badge. Each Airbag is tested individually.
The vest reaches in 98ms* the necessary pressure to obtain an optimal protection and outperforms the impact tests of the AFNOR NF S72-800-2022 standard.

- Comfortable design offers cervical, back, lumbar, sacrum, pelvis and thorax protection.
- For optimal neck protection, a neck brace stabilizes the spine and vital areas.
- Continuous hips protection for a perfect trunk alignment.
- Chest protection adapted to each size (24% of the chest circumference and 100% of the waist-shoulder length).
- Back protection adapted to each size (20% of the chest circumference and 120% of the waist-shoulder length).
- Better protection of the spine and vital organs thanks to two bust heights per size on sizes XS-S-M-L (regular fit/ slim fit).
Made from breathable, silky, comfortable Italian fabrics, the vest has a fitted cut for great protection. Perforated fabric allows good ventilation. A soft backing plate makes for less discomfort on the sides.
Y-saddle cord buckle is a high-performance, lightweight textile buckle that eliminates the noise of the metal buckle of the key ball leash.
Triggering system is a CO2 gas generator, small, lightweight and the most efficient on the market. Resetting is made easy by the cap guide when unscrewing and screwing—there is no possibility of losing the cap. The ball retaining clip allows a safe and simplified reset of the keyball leash.
Compatible garments are also certified by the AFNOR NF S72-800-2022 standard. Jackets compatible with the Freejump Airbag must bear the label “FREEJUMP AIRBAG TECHNOLOGY–COMPATIBLE JACKET”.
Other Notes & Cautions:
- Cartridges for adult size airbags come in two sizes: 60cc (for vest sizes XXS to L); 85cc (for vest sizes LT-XL-XXL).
- Minimum body weight for the Adult Airvest is 77 pounds.
- Minimum height is 51 inches.
- Pony must be at least 10 hands high at the withers.
- Canister must be replaced each time it triggers.
- Canister must be screwed into the vest properly.
- Freejump Airbag is not guaranteed to function properly when using canisters not provided by Freejump.
- Do not wear non-compatible garments over the airbag.

If something doesn’t fit you or your horse, return your original purchase within 30 days, and we’ll make it right with a refund, exchange, or replacement.
For manufacturer's defects, we'll extend the manufacturer's warranty to a maximum of 24 months, regardless of their individual policies. Manufacturer warranties longer than 24 months will be honored and supported by us as well up to the length of those warranties.
Exceptions: Safety items such as helmets and protective vests may only be returned within 30 days, with their original tags intact. Saddles and riding boots may be returned within 90 days, but are subject to a prorated refund based on usage. Used saddles may be returned for 30 days only. For everyone’s protection, treats and vet meds which have been opened are not returnable, and returned blankets must be clean and free of debris. Underwear is not returnable or exchangeable.
Special Conditions
To protect all customers and ensure that every return or exchange is handled fairly, we may require a receipt or decline a return in these situations:
- Item was not purchased directly from Dover Saddlery. (It was purchased at a used tack sale or from a retailer or online seller other than Dover Saddlery.)
- Item is missing a label or has been defaced.
- No receipt and no valid identification in our stores.
- Item is wet, dirty, or contaminated, or until it has been cleaned. (For health and safety reasons, we cannot accept returns on used, defective, or poorly fitting blankets if they are UNWASHED.)
- Item has been lost, stolen, damaged, or misused.
- On rare occasions, based on the nature of prior transactions.
- Supplements have been opened or used.
- Multiple returns of the same item.
- Personalized items may not be returned unless defective.
