PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: Charles Owen JR8 Plus Helmet
Engineered to flatter, the Charles Owen JR8 Plus Helmet** transitions beautifully from schooling to the show ring. This riding helmet is designed as an economical alternative to the more expensive GR8 helmet and may be particularly well suited to young riders. Styled similarly and meeting or exceeding the required safety standards, it has a low-profile design and a gently rounded brim that frames the rider′s face. A removable, washable headband can be easily replaced to extend its life and keep it fresh.
A weather-resistant microfiber suede covers the hard, technically-designed outer shell. An inner of high-grade polystyrene is designed to absorb impact. Four discreet ventilation holes provide added cooling comfort.
Charles Owen helmets are made to remain in place during riding and in the event of a fall. Each helmet grips the occipital bone located at the base of the rider’s skull so that the helmet cannot shift and alter the area of protection offered. This model has a black harness in a unique crossover design that utilizes a double tension adjuster on soft-edge nylon webbing. It completes the finished look and offers strength and security.
This helmet is accented with a metallic logo above the peak and an embroidered logo patch at the back. **SEI certified to ASTM F1163-23.

- The headband, or liner, is machine washable and quick to air dry. With two or more headbands, you have one to use while the other is being cleaned—and you will always have a hygienic, fresh-smelling helmet.

- Headbands are simple to remove and install thanks to premium hook-and-loop fasteners inside the helmet.

The Dover Saddlery Guarantee
If something doesn’t fit you or your horse, return your original purchase within 30 days, and we’ll make it right with a refund, exchange, or replacement.
For manufacturer's defects, we'll extend the manufacturer's warranty to a maximum of 24 months, regardless of their individual policies. Manufacturer warranties longer than 24 months will be honored and supported by us as well up to the length of those warranties.
Exceptions: Safety items such as helmets and protective vests may only be returned within 30 days, with their original tags intact. Saddles and riding boots may be returned within 90 days, but are subject to a prorated refund based on usage. Used saddles may be returned for 30 days only. For everyone’s protection, treats and vet meds which have been opened are not returnable, and returned blankets must be clean and free of debris. Underwear is not returnable or exchangeable.
Special Conditions
To protect all customers and ensure that every return or exchange is handled fairly, we may require a receipt or decline a return in these situations:
- Item was not purchased directly from Dover Saddlery. (It was purchased at a used tack sale or from a retailer or online seller other than Dover Saddlery.)
- Item is missing a label or has been defaced.
- No receipt and no valid identification in our stores.
- Item is wet, dirty, or contaminated, or until it has been cleaned. (For health and safety reasons, we cannot accept returns on used, defective, or poorly fitting blankets if they are UNWASHED.)
- Item has been lost, stolen, damaged, or misused.
- On rare occasions, based on the nature of prior transactions.
- Supplements have been opened or used.
- Multiple returns of the same item.
- Personalized items may not be returned unless defective.
