Crafted in Bates’ premium quality Luxe Leather, this high-performance eventing saddle has incredible tactility and grip. Features include:
- A forward-cut monoflap design for an optimal sensitive feel of your horse. Streamlined, yet heavy-duty girth points run seamlessly through the monoflap. Ergonomic shaping of the stirrup bar and a channel for the stirrup leather ensures zero bulk under your leg. Everything works together to make the saddle disappear and bring your horse into focus.
- An effortless SweetSpot in the ultimate jumping seat. This neutral position makes you prepared for anything, while it supports your perfect alignment with a seamless, ultra-narrow and close contact feel.
- Ultra-close, low-profile SynergyPanels that provide the ultimate protective cushioning and the shock absorption of air. These panels reduce pressure on your horse’s back and allow improved blood flow to working back muscles. Designed for wither freedom, SynergyPanels ensure your horse has a natural and confident frame over jumps. You’ll experience your horse’s full power and agility thanks to his ability to enjoy a full range of movement.
- Adjustable Ergonomic Stirrup Bar, which lets you customize the location of your stirrup bar for precision performance. The position of your stirrup bar has a profound impact on your natural alignment in the saddle. The unique shaping of this Bates stirrup bar reduces bulk under your leg.
- Front and rear FlexiContourblocs with patented shaping to stabilize your leg without restriction. Positioned on the forward-cut flap, the front FlexiContourbloc can be angled and moved forward or backward and secured to perfectly complement your position. The rear FlexiContourbloc can be moved higher or lower.
The Advanta Monoflap Event Saddle also offers the flexibility in horse fit of the EASY-CHANGE™ Fit Solution, which includes the EASY-CHANGE Gullet System and the EASY-CHANGE Riser System. Your event horse is an elite athlete. As muscles develop and change, your saddle can be customized for your horse’s comfort at all times. When your saddle is in balance, your horse is free to move naturally, recover quickly and maintain stamina and focus through the most demanding of courses. Gullet plates alter the saddle width; risers make adjustments within the saddle panel. This saddle comes with a medium gullet plate; other plates sold separately.
All Bates® saddles feature the finest, hand selected European leather. You can be confident that the leather in a Bates® saddle is the best in the world, and if cared for, will offer many years of riding. Leather is a natural product and its life relies on maintaining a certain level of moisture. By following the steps below your saddle will perform for many years.
Prior to being ridden your new saddle should be liberally dressed with Bates® Leather Balsam. The balsam offers a surface barrier and protects against wear, water and sweat. Allow it to soak overnight for maximum absorption and protective sealing.
Regular cleaning of the saddle with glycerine saddle soap and a damp cloth or sponge will remove dirt, which can scratch the surface. Follow the cleaning with an application of Bates Leather Balsam or Bates Leather Cream to all areas of the saddle that are not suede. Apply a heavier application to high wear areas.
Keeping your Bates® saddle clean will help it achieve the traditional, rich patina of aged, worked leather and your saddle will bring you excellent years of service.

The Dover Saddlery Guarantee
If something doesn’t fit you or your horse, return your original purchase within 30 days, and we’ll make it right with a refund, exchange, or replacement.
For manufacturer's defects, we'll extend the manufacturer's warranty to a maximum of 24 months, regardless of their individual policies. Manufacturer warranties longer than 24 months will be honored and supported by us as well up to the length of those warranties.
Exceptions: Safety items such as helmets and protective vests may only be returned within 30 days, with their original tags intact. Saddles and riding boots may be returned within 90 days, but are subject to a prorated refund based on usage. Used saddles may be returned for 30 days only. For everyone’s protection, treats and vet meds which have been opened are not returnable, and returned blankets must be clean and free of debris. Underwear is not returnable or exchangeable.
Special Conditions
To protect all customers and ensure that every return or exchange is handled fairly, we may require a receipt or decline a return in these situations:
- Item was not purchased directly from Dover Saddlery. (It was purchased at a used tack sale or from a retailer or online seller other than Dover Saddlery.)
- Item is missing a label or has been defaced.
- No receipt and no valid identification in our stores.
- Item is wet, dirty, or contaminated, or until it has been cleaned. (For health and safety reasons, we cannot accept returns on used, defective, or poorly fitting blankets if they are UNWASHED.)
- Item has been lost, stolen, damaged, or misused.
- On rare occasions, based on the nature of prior transactions.
- Supplements have been opened or used.
- Multiple returns of the same item.
- Personalized items may not be returned unless defective.
