PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: E.A. Mattes PM All-Purpose Correction Half Pad with Sheepskin Panels & Rear Trim

The E.A. Mattes PM System, including this All-Purpose Correction Half Pad with Sheepskin Panels & Rear Trim, was developed with Peter Menet, designer of Amerigo and Vega saddles.

E.A. Mattes PM System half pads have all the same features and benefits of the original Mattes half pads, but the billet straps are replaced by a button hole on each side that goes completely through the pad. This allows the billet straps of a Mattes Quilt-Only or Light Flannel Pad to be fed through the button hole, making two pads into one unit.

E. A. Mattes Platinum Sheepskin is the leader in sheepskin pads for quality, density, resilience and purpose. The dense sheepskin fibers absorb shock, wick moisture and allow air circulation naturally. Sheepskin panels are designed with no seams and using only the highest grade sheepskin available. The natural functionality and beauty make Mattes pads a longtime favorite among riders of all disciplines.

Part of the Mattes Correction System, this pad helps maintain balance and straightness for horses that change form through a season or have asymmetries. Two pockets in front and two in back hold Poly-Flex® Shims that can be used to adjust the way a saddle fits on your horse. These shims are resilient, do not bottom out like foam or other materials, and allow incremental adjustments to be made easily. The shims are 5mm thick, designed to be layered, and are easily trimmed with scissors to taper the ends and create a pressure free fit if multiple shims are necessary. A full set of Poly-Flex shims is included with the pad: six front and six back.

Machine wash in cool water, gentle cycle, with MELP. Air dry out of direct sunlight. All shims must be removed prior to washing. See product insert for specific cleaning instructions.

If something doesn’t fit you or your horse, return your original purchase within 30 days, and we’ll make it right with a refund, exchange, or replacement.

For manufacturer's defects, we'll extend the manufacturer's warranty to a maximum of 24 months, regardless of their individual policies. Manufacturer warranties longer than 24 months will be honored and supported by us as well up to the length of those warranties.

Exceptions: Safety items such as helmets and protective vests may only be returned within 30 days, with their original tags intact. Saddles and riding boots may be returned within 90 days, but are subject to a prorated refund based on usage. Used saddles may be returned for 30 days only. For everyone’s protection, treats and vet meds which have been opened are not returnable, and returned blankets must be clean and free of debris. Underwear is not returnable or exchangeable.

Special Conditions

To protect all customers and ensure that every return or exchange is handled fairly, we may require a receipt or decline a return in these situations:

  • Item was not purchased directly from Dover Saddlery. (It was purchased at a used tack sale or from a retailer or online seller other than Dover Saddlery.)
  • Item is missing a label or has been defaced.
  • No receipt and no valid identification in our stores.
  • Item is wet, dirty, or contaminated, or until it has been cleaned. (For health and safety reasons, we cannot accept returns on used, defective, or poorly fitting blankets if they are UNWASHED.)
  • Item has been lost, stolen, damaged, or misused.
  • On rare occasions, based on the nature of prior transactions.
  • Supplements have been opened or used.
  • Multiple returns of the same item.
  • Personalized items may not be returned unless defective.
