Quest® Gel from Zoetis™ is an FDA approved, broad-spectrum equine dewormer containing 2% moxidectin. Quest (and Quest® Plus) are the only FDA approved dewormers that suppress production of small strongyle eggs for 84 days and that kill encysted small strongyles in one dose.

Palatable, clear in color and formulated to dissolve instantly, this gel dewormer is approved for the removal and control of large strongyles (Strongylus vulgaris, S. edentates, Triodontophorus brevicauda, T. serratus); small strongyles (Cyathostomum spp., Cylicocyclus spp., Cylicostephanus spp., Gyalocophalus capitatus); encysted cyathostomes; Ascarids (Parascaris equorum); pinworms (Oxyuris equi); hairworms (Trichostrongylus axei); largemouth stomach worms (Habronema muscae); and stomach bots (Gasterophilus intestinals, G. nasailis). Packaged in an easy-to-use Sure-Dial® oral syringe, .4 ounces (11.3 gm) of Quest treats 1,500 pounds of body weight.

The syringe is calibrated in 50 lb. increments for exact dosing. This dewormer is intended for use in healthy horses and ponies that are six months of age or older, and it may be administered to broodmares and stallions. It should not be administered to foals less than six month of age or in sick, debilitated and underweight horses. It should not be used in other animal species as severe adverse reactions, including death, may result.

Consult your veterinarian to determine the best targeted deworming schedule for your horse.

Quest Gel Horse Wormer

How to Set the Dose:
Since the dose is based on the weight of the animal, you need to use a scale or weight tape to find each animal's weight before treating with QUEST Gel. Once the weight is known, set the dose for each horse or pony as follows:

  • Hold the syringe with the capped end pointing to the left and so that you can see the weight measurements and tick marks (small black lines) Each tick mark relates to 50 lbs. of body weight.
  • Turn the green dial ring until the left side of the ring lines up with the weight of the animal.

How to Give Quest Gel to a Horse or Pony:
  • Make sure there is no feed in the animal's mouth.
  • Remove the cap from the end of the syringe. Save the cap for reuse.
  • Place the tip of the syringe inside the animal's mouth at the space between the teeth.
  • Gently push the plunger until it stops, depositing the gel on the back of the tongue.
  • Remove the syringe from the animal's mouth and raise the animal's head slightly to make sure it swallows the gel.
  • Replace the syringe cap.

Caution: This product should be given to foals, ponies, and miniature horses with caution because overdose can lead to serious reactions. This product should be used in horses only. Consult the full product labeling for complete directions and important safety information.
