ParaScreen-e™ is an economical, easy-to-use, mail-in fecal collection kit. It provides a convenient way for you to have your horse’s fecal matter laboratory tested to identify parasite species and a Fecal Egg Count (FEC) prior to deworming. Fecal testing is the most recommended way for obtaining this information. Within 24 hours after receipt of your horse’s fecal sample, you’ll receive the results of a McMaster’s quantitative fecal test performed by New England Horse Labs, a USDA-APHIS certified equine testing facility.

This fecal analysis report will identify parasite species and a FEC so that you, your veterinarian or horse-care professional can consider the most effective deworming treatment options. Valuable information for your horse’s health, this fecal analysis report eliminates guesswork and the hit or miss approach to deworming. Targeted deworming lets you avoid contributing to the problem of parasite resistance. You can administer an appropriate dewormer only when necessary and avoid administering them to horses that are not in need of treatment.

Post-treatment fecal testing is highly recommended for monitoring the effectiveness of deworming programs. To be sure the dewormers you are using are working and appropriate for your horse, fecal testing should be repeated after treatment.
