Woof Wear Mud Fever Turnout Boots give you the freedom to turn out your horse in wet or muddy conditions. An innovativem breathable boot, it seals the horse’s leg from the knee to the base of the heel to prevent mud from coming in contact with the hair and skin.
The Mud Fever Turnout Boot has a waterproof and breathable fabric around the cannon bone to prevent overheating and a close-fitting hoof capsule with Kevlar® reinforced heel protection, which will keep legs clean and dry. A shaped PU strike pad also offers brushing protection for your horse’s legs.
Note: Woof Wear recommends Mud Fever Boots are removed daily to inspect the horse’s legs and to make sure that all the hook and loop fastenings are clean and secure. If the fastenings are not clean, they will not stick properly and will not remain secure on the leg.

Useful Tips in Treating Mud Fever
- Never scratch the scabs, as doing so can lead to further infection.
- Use a mild antibacterial shampoo for cleansing, and then ensure the leg is as dry as possible before applying any appropriate creams for healing overnight.
- Clean your grooming brushes regularly as they can harbor bacteria.
- Do not use dirty horse boots as doing so can cause unnecessary rubs.
- Do not share horse boots to help prevent the spread of bacteria and fungus.
- Wash your own hands after cleaning mud fever infected areas; use gloves in treatment whenever possible.
