It works well. The only problem I had was that the strap that attaches to the girth was really long so I had to add extra holes to make it fit. Otherwise it frees the shoulders so my horse can jump bigger.

The construction is great. The elastic is stretchy but not so that it will loosen and stretch out. the stitching is high quality and compares to my friend's $200 breastplate.
