How to Measure Your Horse and Fit your Blanket

The fit of your blanket is extremely important to the comfort of your horse. Improperly fitting blankets can cause rubbing and slippage. To find blanket size, measure distance from center of the chest, across the point of the shoulder, and to the center of the tail. Many blankets are sized in two or three inch increments, so choose the closest size available.

Care of Your Blanket

Blankets should be cleaned annually. First, remove excess dirt with a brush or hose, then wash by hand or on a delicate cool water cycle. Use very mild soap. Allow to drip dry. Do not put blankets in the dryer as this will damage the waterproof coating and void any warranties.

For individual size charts and meaurements, please refer to the "Size Guide" link that appears on the product page.

Great looking sheet but doesn't wear well because it didn't move over the fur. Instead, it pulled and a front snap broke the first day. Removing the tail flap stopped the pulling. It's good for layering because it breathes.

This sheet is not waterproof. I turned my horse out in a cold rain hoping that it would keep her dry. When I came out the next morning, the sheet had soaked straight through and my horse was shivering and wet.

Sad to say, this sheet didn't fit either of my horses. It seemed massively too large in the shoulders for the horse I ordered it for--size 80--and too small for the horse I didn't order it for--who normally takes a 78. All she had to do was roll in it one time for it to get a stranglehold on her that wouldn't let go, ripping open the velcro on the front so that I have to wonder who thought that would hold on any horse? It is a shame. It looked good at first, sleek and form-fitting, my horse in spandex. :)
