The Micklem Multibridle can be used as a bridle, a bit free bridle, as a lunge cavesson, and even as a halter. The Micklem Multibridle is designed from the inside out; from the shape of the horse's skull, instead of the outward appearance of the head.
The Micklem Multibridle can be used as a bridle, a bit-less bridle, as a lunge cavesson, and even as a halter. The Micklem Multibridle is designed from the inside out; from the shape of the horse's skull, instead of the outward appearance of the head. The straps are positioned to hold the bridle in a comfortable position, avoiding fragile bones, facial nerves, protruding upper jaw and molars. Additionally, the design reduces shifting and keeps the bridle in place. Comfort features include a padded crown piece and wider straps that stay put and reduce pressure points. The Multibridle combines four pieces of equipment into one. With a few small adjustments, it can easily be adapted to the training requirements of most horses and ponies.
Reins are not included. Available in P/S, C/S, F/S, O/S.
For a properly fitted bridle, a caveson noseband should sit just below the horse's cheekbones – generally no more than the width of 2 fingers from the bottom of the cheekbone to the top of the noseband (this does not apply to drop or figure 8 nosebands). Figure 8 nosebands should sit above the bottom of the cheek bone only if they have a ring that allows movement connecting the noseband to the cheek piece. The browband should never be gaping or flopping. Click Here for more information and examples.
Properly adjusted cheek pieces will cause the bit to create two gentle wrinkles at the corner of the mouth on each side. Cheek piece buckles should generally be at the level of a horse's eye, and on a bridle that fits a horse's head very well, all buckles will generally be at the same level as each other. These cheek piece guidelines are just a suggestion, as finding a perfect fit on all horses is near impossible. Multiple holes are given on cheek pieces to allow for vast adjustment. Keep in mind that the proper position of the bit is a priority over buckle placement. Click Here for more information and examples.
Some horses can be difficult to fit in a stock size bridle. For this reason, additional bridle pieces can be bought in a variety of sizes and it is never a problem to mix and match sizes of individual pieces to get the proper fit. Click Here to shop all bridle parts.

This versatile piece of equipment was developed by William Micklem to specially fit the shape of the horse's skull, avoiding fragile areas and facial nerves, which in turn allows the horse to preform more comfortably and willingly. In addition, the Multibridle works as several pieces of equipment.

Reviewed By: Jill K (CA) I really see no difference in my horse with this bridle, it just seems like the newest fad. It also rubbed the hair off my horses nose in the middle. Nice convincing theory, but no regular bridle should be fitted so tightly or used so harshly to damage nerves or bruise the face anyway. If that ever happens, one might first check one's horsemanship, rather than purchasing the latest gadget.

Reviewed By: Laurie R (NH) I LOVE this bridle. I have a hard to bridle horse, this works like a dream for her! I love this bridle so much I am going to buy another one for my young horse. It was a bit stiff at first, but with a few cleanings and regular use, it fits well and I don't think I will go back to a regular bridle!

Reviewed By: Clare (North Carolina) I bought this bridle because I was considering using a bitless bridle on my very sensitive Eventing Anglo-Arab. It was a bit difficult to figure out how to put it all together the first time (it's like no other bridle I've ever seen!) But the results have been amazing!! My horse is happier with the bit and without it he rides like a dream over fences, here is even clips that come with the bridle to connect to your bit so if you make a mistake and loose your leg over the fence you dont punish your horse by catching him in the mouth, genius! My little guy loves it!
Leather is great, buckles are sturdy and well made, I do have to say the girls in my event barn thought it looked a little funny till my horse started jumping better, now they want one too!
