This product works great. On a thick mane you can cut all the way to the root to thin, on a thin mane to can just cut at the usual pulled length so you don't take away all the hair. I can be a little flimsy feeling when you use it, but I have beaten the heck out of it and it is still going!

Decent product. Not as heavy duty as prior product used but it does the job. It does thin mane if teased upwards towards base and the cut. Much easier than pulling mane by hand. Hoping it holds up for many years; it seemed fairly pricey but only one I could find.

It takes a bit of practice to get good results, but is worth the effort if you have a horse that does not like mane-pulling. We've used it on a rescue horse and it's worth the extra bit of effort not to traumatize her further. I'd give it five stars, but think for the price it should be metal, not plastic. Otherwise, good product.
