This pad is great. Since it's a non-slip pad it is supposed to go directly on the horses back to keep the pad in place, thus keeping the saddle in place! We are purchasing more because it works so well.

Just a note about the reviewer who said this pad gave her horse hives - she obviously put it right on the horse's back, not on top of another pad. Very stupid, and not a defect in the pad, just a defect in the person's brain. Never, ever put any synthetic pad right on the skin, use at least a baby pad.

I was super excited for this pad. But it gave my horse horrible hives even after washing and it was too small to even fit my saddle. I have a 17.5 saddle. Not something I would buy.
