This NorthWind medium weight blanket has a 1680 denier ballistic nylon outer shell and offers a 2-year guarantee against ripping. 200 grams of poly fill insulation. Lining is 210 denier nylon. Shoulder gussets alleviate pressure and allow freedom of movement. Low bias surcingles, clip-and-dee front closures. Tail flap, removable elastic leg straps and reflective piping. Fleece protection at withers. In charcoal/./navy, charcoal/hunter or charcoal/burgundy.

Just got this blanket in size 84 for my 16.3 TB gelding and it fits him perfect- not too snug in the neck or short through the body. It stays put and doesn't slide around on him, even when he rolls. The horse he is turned out with likes to nip at him, and so far the blanket has held up beautifully to that kind of wear/abuse. I wish the "green" was greener- the colors are a little conservative and dull, but it's not a big deal since this is not a show blanket. I'm just glad my boy is going to be warm, dry, and comfortable this winter! :)

We purchased this blanket for our polo horses. They are turned out in groups of 3-5. I know they "socialize" a lot during turnout, and the worst they have done to these blankets is tear out some of the reflective piping (not a big deal.) These blankets have held up better than most other blankets we have tried, and they have held up at least as well as the Rambo Blankets for a fraction of the cost.

This blanket fits both of my 16.2 hh. warmblood dressage horses wonderfully. I normally have trouble getting blankets that fit over their withers and aren't too tight in the neck and shoulder area, and I was very pleased to see that this blanket gave them room yet still fit well. One of my horses gets cold easily, so I layer a sheet (or two) underneath. I definitely recommend it for horses that have withers or need shoulder room. I would have given it 4.5 if I could have, the reason I would not give it 5 is I wish it came in a different color/design.

How to Measure Your Horse and Fit your Blanket

The fit of your blanket is extremely important to the comfort of your horse. Improperly fitting blankets can cause rubbing and slippage. To find blanket size, measure distance from center of the chest, across the point of the shoulder, and to the center of the tail. Many blankets are sized in two or three inch increments, so choose the closest size available.

Care of Your Blanket

Blankets should be cleaned annually. First, remove excess dirt with a brush or hose, then wash by hand or on a delicate cool water cycle. Use very mild soap. Allow to drip dry. Do not put blankets in the dryer as this will damage the waterproof coating and void any warranties.
