Front closure needs fixin'

I bought 2 of these last year for my boys and while they have held up to the onslaught of teeth, and my monkey horse cannot undo the front closure & take this blanket off, I'm not at all happy about how the front closure works. If you clip the snaps to the first set of dees, the 2" of velcro never holds the blanket closed in front. If you clip to the 2nd set of dees, it ends up very tight around their necks. It's just not a good system. The way the velco is placed, only a 2 x 2" square ever holds the front shut. Also mine ran very small, my 17 hand Thoroughbred is normally an 80 but this 82 is quite small on him.

I am thrilled with this blanket. Not only has it stood up pretty well to my VERY destructive horse, but when my horse destroyed it, DoverSaddlery promptly replaced it. To top it off, since the weather was at its worst, they sent me a new blanket along with a return slip and allowed me to return the damaged one AFTER I received the new one. This ensured that my horse stayed warm even through our transaction. As a result, my husband bought one for his horse too

How to Measure Your Horse and Fit your Blanket

The fit of your blanket is extremely important to the comfort of your horse. Improperly fitting blankets can cause rubbing and slippage. To find blanket size, measure distance from center of the chest, across the point of the shoulder, and to the center of the tail. Many blankets are sized in two or three inch increments, so choose the closest size available.

Care of Your Blanket

Blankets should be cleaned annually. First, remove excess dirt with a brush or hose, then wash by hand or on a delicate cool water cycle. Use very mild soap. Allow to drip dry. Do not put blankets in the dryer as this will damage the waterproof coating and void any warranties.
