Also featuring the V-front closure, Surefit™ Neck design, removable neck cover, Leg Arches and Euro-cut design, your horse will be securely protected from the elements. Surcingles are removable. An elasticized tail cord with a plastic cover gives added wind protection. Rambo Duo Blanket Liners fit into the Optimo as well. In black/pewter/red or black. I have been using this on a very broad QH. This is the first blanket that doesn't give him shoulder rubs. It is nice to be able change it from a sheet to a winter blanket by just adding a liner.Purchased it in April 2011 and have not had any waterproof issues. It does have a long drop which I was a little concerned about at first (if it would rub the forearm) but the leg arches really do their job and it was nice to have more coverage under the belly.

Here is a smartly engineered blanket that fits right and is cozy warm for the stifles and lets the body breathe in all the right places, articulates at the shoulder and relaxes the horse at rest because of its amazing comfort. When I say fits right I am saying I think it fits true. I bought a 78" after lots of research online about it whereas all this horse's other blankets (since 2001) are 81". He isn't really an 81 but they are the ones that fit him best although they hang a little long. Finally he feels so great because of all the great and thoughtful design and material elements. Thank you Horseware, brilliant!

I purchased this blanket Nov 2010 and was pleased at first. Unfortunately the ineterior lining seems to have a fault in it and tore within a month. I contacted Horseware Ireland and never got a response. Now, less than a year later the waterproofing has failed in multiple places on the back and rump. I have contacted Horseware regarding their "3 yr waterproof guarantee". When and IF I recieve a response I will post another review here.
How to Measure Your Horse and Fit your BlanketThe fit of your blanket is extremely important to the comfort of your horse. Improperly fitting blankets can cause rubbing and slippage. To find blanket size, measure distance from center of the chest, across the point of the shoulder, and to the center of the tail. Many blankets are sized in two or three inch increments, so choose the closest size available.

Care of Your BlanketBlankets should be cleaned annually. First, remove excess dirt with a brush or hose, then wash by hand or on a delicate cool water cycle. Use very mild soap. Allow to drip dry. Do not put blankets in the dryer as this will damage the waterproof coating and void any warranties.
