at sasha and jeanne, the description specifically says that the sheet is a SHEET! and also that it is for when your horse is at the trailer or by the ring, waiting for a class to start. it keeps them dry. its not for turnout...try reading the description first! to every one else, i appreciate your positive reviews for this product and i am considering buying it. i do lots of barrel racing and my horse is always at the trailer waiting for another class to start and i really need something to keep him dry with the saddle on and not getting wet, so thanks for the positive reviews

I think the product is perfect for what I purchased it for, which was to use when I have to hand walk the horses in the rain. This sheet allows me to cover the entire horse, with or without a blanket/cooler on underneath. After they've finished walking, I can take the rain sheet off, and they can go back to their stall warm and dry. the only criticism I have is that the size large (80-84") is too short for my horses, all of whom usually where size 80" blankets. I would definately purchase an XL if there was one.

While this rainsheet was not defective in any way, the description in the catalogue was not descriptive enough to prevent me from buying it, believing it would be useful for herd turnout for my skinny TB. The purpose is, as another reviewer stated, to provide a raincover when ringside at a show, or when you're standing in the rain and want your tack to stay dry. You will not stay dry, but your tack will.

How to Measure Your Horse and Fit your Blanket

The fit of your blanket is extremely important to the comfort of your horse. Improperly fitting blankets can cause rubbing and slippage. To find blanket size, measure distance from center of the chest, across the point of the shoulder, and to the center of the tail. Many blankets are sized in two or three inch increments, so choose the closest size available.

Care of Your Blanket

Blankets should be cleaned annually. First, remove excess dirt with a brush or hose, then wash by hand or on a delicate cool water cycle. Use very mild soap. Allow to drip dry. Do not put blankets in the dryer as this will damage the waterproof coating and void any warranties.
