This wormer does get rid of everything, but do not use this wormer first, use something weaker. My horse coliced because the had a lot of worms in his system. Just be carful of the worm you use in the first rotation. Other than that it is good.

This is a very effective wormer and good for a rotational program. Horses carrying a heavy parasite load, especially young horses, can colic after treatment with any of the modern wormers. The dying parasites are toxic and the horse's body must clear this junk out. To avoid this problem, first worm with something less powerful, wait 2-3 weeks, and then worm again with this product or ivermectin. This will really get rid of all the parasites and is not so hard on the horse.

I have four horses that range from 2yrs to 28yrs and I have always rotated Ivermectin with Quest Gel. I have never had any problems with colic or anything else from worming with this product. The gel form is very easy to give to my horses and there is less waste because the gel disolves in their mouth. This is a wonderful product and I recomend this to everybody that is just getting started with horses and are not sure which dewormers they should use.

How to Set the Dose:
Since the dose is based on the weight of the animal, you need to use a scale or weight tape to find each animal's weight before treating with QUEST Gel. Once the weight is known, set the dose for each horse or pony as follows:
Hold the syringe with the capped end pointing to the left and so that you can see the weight measurements and tick marks (small black lines) Each tick mark relates to 50 lbs. of body weight.Turn the green dial ring until the left side of the ring lines up with the weight of the animal.
How to Give Quest Gel to a Horse or Pony:Make sure there is no feed in the animal's mouth. Remove the cap from the end of the syringe. Save the cap for reuse. Place the tip of the syringe inside the animal's mouth at the space between the teeth.Gently push the plunger until it stops, depositing the gel on the back of the tongue.Remove the syringe from the animal's mouth and raise the animal's head slightly to make sure it swallows the gel.Replace the syringe cap.
