The best

Sure the cheaper stuff MIGHT work, but Keratex will turn a hoof around. My thoroughbred has classic TB feet and this hardener keeps his front feet on, and keeps his back feet comfortable without shoes. Big plus – it’s not sticky (I hated using venice turpentine!)
Havent Lost a Shoe Yet

My horse kept on throwing a shoe, and I tried this product. I love it. He has not thrown a shoe since. Though it costs more than other products it does last (I bought it 6 months ago and I have a half bottle left). I ask my farrier to apply it each time he gets shod. This product also makes it easier to clean their feet and even pick the hoof out if you paint it on the bottom.

Keratex is truely a great product, however.... I think it is better for horses with sore soles than cracked hoof walls. I find the best way to use this product is to apply it to my thoroughbreds soles, then put hoof heal on his hoof walls to get rid of the cracks. Try it people, it really works!!!

Started using other products to toughen my horses' soles and nothing really worked to my satisfaction. My farrier recommended Keratex hoof hardener. I put it on the soles and the hoof. Made all the difference in the world.

I ride 3-day events which is very demanding on my horses feet. Keratex hoof hardener keeps their soles in great shape and the hoof solid to make sure their shoes stay on. My farrier praises Keratex and me for using it every time she does their feet!

After literally decades of 'the best' vets and farriers, I decided to consistently focus on nutrition and Keratex as the foundation of my hoofcare program for my horses. There really is nothing like. Love the Hoof Hardener. It simply works great.

I have been using Keratex Hoof Hardener for over 10 years on every horse I've owned, including many rescue animals with potentially life threatening hoof problems. There is nothing else like it. No such thing as a climate that is too wet or too dry if you have Keratex around to help you. Seriously recommend it.

I used this product on a Thorobred with cracks from coronet to ground. It took an entire year to grow out the cracks, but this product started making a difference right away. It is expensive, but if used judiciously, goes a long way.

My farrier recommended this product to me and I used it exactly as he said for about 6 months. Unfortunately, rather than hardening his hooves and helping him keep his shoes on his hooves became very brittle. After using the product for a few months he had many new cracks and had thrown shoes 5 different times. In the 6 months I owned him prior to using this product he had only pulled a shoe once and that was when I took him fox hunting and he pulled it in the mud. I have been using Hoof Heal for the past couple of months and it seems to be repairing the damage. I would suggest looking into that instead of Keratex.

Wow, this stuff works great. I've got a 28yr old TB that due to severe arthritis had to have all his shoes pulled because he has gotten to the point where it is very hard to be shod anymore. His hoof walls are extremely thin and my farrier and I were afraid his hooves would fall apart. My farrier recommended this product, as he has had good luck with it before. Needless to say, my old man's hooves are doing fantastic!

Our warmblood had pretty terrible feet when we purchased him; had the soft "pancake" foot problem. After using this product, even in the humid part of the states, it helped strengthen his feet noticeably and make them more compact. Our farrier even commented on how nice his hooves are! Great product.

My farrier recommended that I purchase this product. I know that it is expensive, but it is worth it. Keratex lives up to its claims - it strengthens the hooves. I noticed the difference after only a week and a half of using it. It has saved me money in the long-run because my horse has kept her shoes on longer. The negative side of this product is that you need to be careful about breathing it in or letting it touch your skin. Also, the bottle is easy to spill.

Well worth the price. Lasts a long time. There was a thoroughbred with white feet at my barn that had absolutely awful feet, we tried metal bands just to keep his shoes on, and we used it on him. My horse used to get abcesses on the bottoms of his feet from frozen ground, and this product took care of it. I could actually tell the difference in the texture of his hooves after several applications. Would recommend all keratex products to everyone.

Simply Amazing! This hoof hardner has to be the best because it actually affects the composition of the hoof. After about 2 weeks I could see noticeable improvement of my horse's feet; they had less cracks and were much shinier. After using the whole bottle my horse's feet looked very nice and even my farrier said his feet where in a much better condition. I'm now on Keratex Hoof Gel so I'll see how this goes but the hoof hardner is a must if you want to improve your horse's feet.
