I just bought this item online and when I tried it on my 17 hand horse it was also too big as teh other comment. I rode in it just to see if it would work at least and I had no control over my horse, it was worthless. I would not recommend buying this product unless you have a draft horse.

My horse is a big bodied 16.1hh appendix gelding with a long neck. I bought this martingale for him because it was cheap. When I got it, the strap running from the girth to the bridle was way too long. Your horse would have to be a giraffe for it to fit properly. Also, the raised part prevents you from punching extra holes in it to make it shorter.
