I expected a more substantial fabric able to resist water/rain for a short period of time to protect my saddle when walking my horse in the rain to a nearby arena. However the product does not perform this function.

I ordered two of these; one for my dressage saddle, the other for an all-purpose saddle. On the first use, the elastic along the binding edge on both covers broke, so now it effectively only drapes over the saddles without a snug fit.

I've had this same saddle cover in green for at least the last 5 years and has held up well with using my saddle 2-3 times a week. The only reason why I am replacing it now is due to a tear by my own fault and a barn kitten using it as a potty box when I left it out.
