I'm not sure if the pair I got were just defective or not, but the zipper on the left boot always gave me trouble ever since I got them. The zipper pull broke off within the first few rides so I had to put a zip tie on it and pull it up with a hoof pick (slightly dangerous). Then just the other day I zipped them up and the zippers ripped out. Its not like I didn't take care of them either. I cleaned them after every other ride and kept them in my tack room. I chose these over ariats because I heard the zippers in ariats were bad, but I guess these were too. Other than that though, I did really like them. I rode in them the first day I got them with no problems. I will have to send these back for a replacement.

These boots I bought was 2 days before a big show and i was amazed of how fast they were shipped and how I got it just in time before it was timed to ship out. I asked customer service online of what boots i would get cause i have a wider calf and these boots were perfect! they fit so well and i was amazed of how fast you could fit into they and they don't really wear down but the comfiest boots you have they fit like that and the first time you get into them it feels like you been in them for awhile which is really nice for a show. I recommend these boots they are really nice show boots! :)
For proper fit, Dover recommends that you take the time to determine your measurements before you order. Have another person measure your leg for the most accuracy. Properly fitted tall boots will, at first, be uncomfortably tight around the top of the boot and should come up into the back of your knee. They should be difficult to pull on and off or zip up. As they break in, they will drop comfortably around your leg.
When referring to tall boot sizing charts, it is important to keep in mind that all tall boots are measured at the widest part of the calf, but each brand measures height differently.
How to Measure for Tall Boots:
1. Wear the clothing (breeches, tights, socks, etc.) you are most likley to wear with your boots.
2. Sit in a straight chair with feet flat on the floor and knees at a 90 degree angle.
3. Measure calf around the widest part, and measure height from the floor to back of the knee.
4. Add 1 1/2" - 2" to measured height to allow for drop as your boots break in.
