This Mikmar eggbutt bit is made from a revolutionary new material called Cupreon. Created specifically for horses, Cupreon is a superior quality, nickel-free, non-toxic copper alloy. Due to the composition and oxidation process, this new formulation warms easily in the horse's mouth, promotes salivation and encourages bit acceptance and softness. The Ergom Lozenge Mouthpiece is double-jointed and has a smooth link that is optimally shaped and sized for the horse's comfort. This mouthpiece is legal for dressage competition. 65mm rings. Available in sizes: 5", 5 1/4", 5 1/2".

I purchased this bit from Dover in Spring of 2010. I train horses at a show barn, specializing in starting the two year olds. This has been my favorite bit. It keeps the mouth wet and the horses stay nice and soft. I love it.

I love this bit...and so does our horse. The eggbutt form factor seems to be the best match for him and Mikmar got it right with the design and the Cupreon material. In fact, I now have two of these bits; one on the bridle my wife and daughters use and one on the bridle I use for my dressage training. Highly recommended.
