I initially bought this bit because my horse was a little to headstrong with a normal snaffle bit. It turned out that this was not the right bit for him. He would refuse to move and would randomly start bucking, and when we used it on another horse she also was discontent. I think that this bit is too strong. If you have a good connection with your horse then this isn't necessary. I am currently using a french link snaffle with my horse, and he loves it! Definately go for the gentlest bit you can find that your horse responds to.

My trainer swithed my horse from a copper snaffle to this bit right on the day of our horse show when we were jumping, and i had absolutely no control. The horse tried to refuse the bit, take off, and not even listen to cues. I have been riding this horse for 2 years and have been riding for 10 years but i dont think the bit reacted well to the horse. he had ridden in a copper curb bit before so im guessing the copper in the reason why he wasnt cooperating.
