Kerrits® has built its reputation for flattering performance riding apparel on its innovative use of the latest fabric technologies. Using the best ideas from other extreme sports, Kerrits creates athletically-inspired riding wear that meets the unique demands of active riders across disciplines. For decades Kerrits has set the standard for fit, comfort and style in riding apparel.

The Kerrits brand originated in 1986, when windsurfer Kerri Kent began to design women's bathing suits that would finally "stay put." Her dream of creating comfortable active wear for athletic women started with $50 of fabric and friends who were willing to stand for fittings as she perfected her bathing suit designs. By 1987, Kerri opened a retail store where she sold her custom bathing suits and coordinating active wear. Michele McAlpine joined the store as manager in 1991, and the business thrived as the pair gathered increasing expertise in making comfortable coverage for athletic women.

A newspaper profile article on the Kerrits active wear brand mentioned Kerri's wish to make clothing for women who shared her passion for horses. It wasn't long afterward that Kerrits Performance Equestrian Apparel made its way to market with the signature carrot seed packets as hangtags.

Kerrits, headquartered in Bingen, Washington, is at home in the Pacific Northwest. It's an area filled with other sportswear brand headquarters and plenty of likeminded outdoors enthusiasts. The always changeable weather serves as great design inspiration and an excellent testing laboratory for Kerrits apparel. The range of technical fabrics is always evolving to help keep riders cool in warm weather, warm in cold weather and protected in all sorts of weather conditions.

Fabrics such as CoolTek™, IceFil®, Dynamic Extreme™ and Durabreathe™ plus mesh and cotton can all be found within the Kerrits clothing line. Their unique blends of performance benefits offer the rider all sorts of options. The fabrics are formed into flattering styles and offered in Kerrits' signature bright and rich color schemes, with coordinating seasonal pieces making fashionable style easy for the active rider to achieve.

A range of innovative grip technologies embellishes Kerrits' breech designs. Cross Grip™, Eco Suede™, GripTek™ and Kerrits Sticks are just a few. Formed into knee patches, full seats or panel-like designs, these fabric technologies offer the rider varying levels of flexible hold.
