Herm Sprenger System 4-F stirrup irons pivot in four directions simultaneously, allowing greater comfort and improved performance. The wider shock-absorbing footbed plus this pivoting capability significantly reduces strain on knee and ankle joints. The bowed shape and offset eye help hold the iron in the correct position for optimal foot placement. The stirrups are marked left and right to accommodate the anatomical shapes of your left and right leg. Cut-out branch eliminates unnecessary weight. Sizes 4 1/4", 4 3/4", 5 1/8".
Not good for someone with a forward leg, or lower leg

I had used a pair of these for a few rides and they shoved my foot so far forward I was hitting my horses elbow with every step, and when jumping they throw you off balance, not good if you dont have a stable lower leg, but they work wonders on sore ankles!

I had been riding in the Peacock stirrups and they were ok but I was having problems with my toes going numb while in 2-point or posting. I was also experiencing knee pain while posting. (I'm an adult rider with knee and ankle problems.) I tried one of the cheaper jointed stirrups and they helped with the knee pain and numbness but I didn't feel stable in them. My feet wanted to slip out and my ankle wanted to give. I figured I'd give the HS Bow Balance a try and see how they were. WOW! What a world of difference! No numbness. No knee pain. My feet don't slip out, my ankles don't feel like they are going to give out. My trainer even commented that it was the best my legs have ever looked. They will take some getting used to because there is a springiness to them but I am definitely very pleased and for me they were worth the money.

These were on my christmas list last year and I haven't been disappointed! After years of tennis I always had a weak left ankle and at night after a day of jumping I would always lay awake with knee joint pain. After I got these stirrups and hours in the saddle I haven't had any problems. They reduce strain on both ankles and knees and are extremely secure while riding and jumping especially how they bend to fit your heel position.
