When I ordered this bit, the first one sent by Dover had clearly been USED (was dirty and not in original packaging). I called to request another and was (somewhat grudgingly) sent another. No apology was offered for the inconveniece or additional wait time. The replacement was brand new, in the packaging. The bit itself is very nice and my horse seems to like it-he is a former western pleasure horse who is just getting used to the idea of rein contact and tends to be fussy in any type of jointed snaffle. He goes well in this bit and relaxes more. So overall, nice bit, but not super happy with this transaction with Dover. I don't think they should send out used/returned merchandise as "new".

This bit is amazing....i tried many bits on my horse and a happy mouth was the way to go. now i can feel how soft he is in my hand and has better ground manners.for horse who are pretty sensitive in the mouth or for a fast horse.....
