This is a good bit for shows. my Event horse likes it for XC. he is too sensitive for a gag or pessoa bit but too strong for me to ride in a plain dbl jointed snaffle, it gives him the perfect amount of poll pressure for the changes in pace and collection during the XC rides. I give it a four because he is able to chew up the plastic a bit, but luckily he doesnt do that very often. i have currently owned mine for 2 years and it still is in good use/shape
