My NEW Goode Rider Boot Wellies- in Black-came this week and I wore them around the stable, worked my mare from the ground while wearing them, then took a trail ride in them. I LOVE THEM! I knew they would not be supportive, they are a rubber boot. I put some insoles in them, and wow, perfect. What I love about them is that they DO FIT my over developed calf. The material is so thin, it's like pulling a thick sock on. And that is the other reason I LOVE THEM- I can feel everything! They move and give...it's like riding bareback(I was)with thick protective socks. And they are so chic!

I was so excited to get these boots,loved how they looked, tried them on and now can't wait to return them. The sole of the boot is so thin that you can actually feel the heel every time you step. Very cheaply made, which is surprising. In addition, the toe area flares out and gets thinner as it goes back so it caused a lot of rubbing below my ankles. May be better if you add thick insoles or wear very heavy socks, but VERY uncomfortable to walk around in.

I haven't worn these in the rain yet so I can't speak to the warmth/waterproof factor, but from a style perspective they're great! I bought these to wear for commuting in the city and they definitely don't look like barn boots! The buckle is cute, the rise on the boots is nice and the uppers are soft and flexible so they're comfortable for walking (as opposed to stiff riding models). They seem to run true to size if a little big (as I would expect for a rain/mud boot). I'll be able to layer with thick socks no problem.
