Gel insert between neoprene layer and outer shell protects against brushing and bruising, as gel absorbs kicks and spreads pressure. I was not impressed with these boots. The outer plastic shell is paper thin and the gel inner liner is almost not existant. They are way over priced.

These boots are made of a hard outer shell. They have a gel inner lining that absorbs and spreads shock. I bought them because I noticed that they were the only kind of boots that my trainer used, so I figured that they had to be good.
