Freelance Web Graphic Designer

Dover Saddlery is looking for a designer to create and design digital marketing to attract and delight the Dover Saddlery consumer. This assignment is approximately 3 months duration, with potential for more.

Core Accountabilities
  • Design and deliver digital marketing materials for online touchpoints (email, social media, homepage, banners)
  • Conceptualize and deliver HTML emails
  • Bring the Dover Saddlery brand to life in digital marketing communications by effectively combining aspirational imagery, typography and copy
  • Actively leverage resources in sourcing new ideas - both internally and externally - and contribute to ongoing competitor research/trend analysis
  • Work quickly and effectively to ensure that deadlines are met and marketing calendar is delivered in a timely fashion

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Mastery of graphic design software, digital production processes
  • Strong ability to collaborate and make recommendations
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Time is nimble and fast-paced. Must be able to prioritize, work quickly, and multi-task to meet creative deadlines
  • Passionate about typography, design and exceeding the consumers' expectations
  • Solid experience in HTML

Education/Experience Required
  • 5+ years of digital graphic design experience, preferably in fashion, beauty, retail

Dover Saddlery is looking for a web analyst to provide day to day support for the Business Intelligence Manager, with an emphasis on analyzing and reporting on ECommerce programs

Core Accountabilities
  • Derive recommendations from analysis that have impacts on multiple teams and provide significant business value
  • Own the maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions
  • Analyze and solve problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context
  • Demonstrate analytical and quantitative skills and ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases
  • Respond to high priority requests for multi-department iniatives
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators related to both content and ECommerce objectives

  • Demonstrated experience with database marketing, circulation and analytics
  • Strong skills with Google Analytics, experience with other online analytics tools a plus (Omniture/Adobe Analytics)

Buyer

Littleton, MA
Dover Saddlery is looking for a Buyer who will be responsible for developing the product line to ensure corporate financial goals, gross margin, and EBITDA are met. The position encompasses equestrian products. The position also supports product merchandising initiatives across all channels, from concepts through execution.

Position responsibilities:
  • Develop product assortments by analyzing product performance, customer feedback, consumer trend, competitive landscape and local market knowledge to global merchants/design
  • Manage open-to-buy to meet financial targets and productivity metrics at the SKU level for performance, sales, inventory, receipt and margin goals
  • Research new trends or advances in the product line to present a strong point of view that drives appropriate buying decisions
  • Manage sku lifecycle and react to in season sales to inform the development strategy going forward
  • Work in partnership with Marketing, Visual Merchandising and Store Operations teams to create synergies among all consumer touch points
  • Analyze and reforecast business to help implement strategies to ensure plan is achieved, including adjusting product flow and inventory management
  • Work closely with inventory management and allocation to ensure that distributions meet turn goals, support marketing calendar and maximize profitability
  • Analyze reports of the weekly sales breakdown, develop product reports, and participate in sales meetings
  • Collaborate with the retail, marketing and ecommerce teams to ensure product merchandising reflects top investments and big ideas of the season
  • Attends domestic and international trade and fashion shows

Assistant Buyer

Dover Saddlery is looking for an Assistant Buyer who will be responsible for supporting the Buyer while providing information and communication to vendors as well as the store and management teams. The Assistant Buyer assists the Buyer in the management of gross margin through sales, markdowns, RTV's and markups.

Position responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development of sales and gross margin plans, open-to-buy, merchandise assortments, promotions and advertising
  • Negotiate with vendors for prices, RTV privileges, terms, advertising dollars and markdown money
  • Achieve/exceed departmental financial plans by supporting the Buyer
  • Analyze business results in partnership with Buyer in preparation to develop the ability to draw top line conclusions and actions from analysis
  • Offer recommendations on how to influence current business trends based on competitive insight (retails, promotions, key messages, etc.)
  • Manage daily merchandising responsibilities, including: accurately building, editing and maintaining assortment worksheets; reconciling and updating receipts; maintaining sample accuracy; communicating necessary information to cross-functional team in a timely manner
  • Prepare all necessary documents and resources for departmental meetings including sku rationalization and line planning, etc.
  • Conduct research on competitive set including pricing, style, and key messaging information

Experienced Embroidery Assistant

Littleton, MA

Dover Saddlery is looking for an Experienced Embroidery Assistant to join our Embroidery Department. This position is a full time, 8:30am to 5pm position. In this role, candidates should have a High School diploma or the equivalent.

Position responsibilities:
  • Oversee and coordinate embroidery operations --- hooping garments, digitizing names/logos, etc
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely fashion.
  • Check in products when they arrive. Keep general inventory of backing, bobbins, etc. and create list of materials to re-order when needed.
  • Provide innovative solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Maintain neat and efficient working area.
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance on the embroidery machines (oiling, greasing, etc).
  • Work with other departments within the warehouse

Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in operating commercial embroidery machines (Brother preferred).e
  • Familiarity with Brother Embroidery machines/software.
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, and have exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Ability to stand for 6-8 hours at a time
  • Ability to meet deadlines
