For proper fit, Dover recommends that you take the time to determine your measurements before you order. Have another person measure your leg for the most accuracy. Properly fitted tall boots will, at first, be uncomfortably tight around the top of the boot and should come up into the back of your knee. They should be difficult to pull on and off or zip up. As they break in, they will drop comfortably around your leg.
When referring to tall boot sizing charts, it is important to keep in mind that all tall boots are measured at the widest part of the calf, but each brand measures height differently.
How to Measure for Tall Boots:
1. Wear the clothing (breeches, tights, socks, etc.) you are most likley to wear with your boots. 2. Sit in a straight chair with feet flat on the floor and knees at a 90 degree angle. 3. Measure calf around the widest part, and measure height from the floor to back of the knee. 4. Add 1 1/2" - 2" to measured height to allow for drop as your boots break in.
For individual size charts and meaurements, please refer to the "Size Guide" link that appears on the product page.

Reviewed By: Ali (Tx) I absolutely love these boots. I had a last minute emergency at a show and I bought these 6 hours prior to showing - NO pain. It was amazing. They have broken in wonderfully with zero pain. I will continue to school in these but I won't be getting another pair since I got a pair of higher end boots. But I would recommend them to a first time boot buyer or to someone who doesn't show at higher levels. :)

Reviewed By: ali (tx) i got theese boots for showing. they are the post uncomfortable boots the the whole wide world. they pinch everywhere. ive worn them a lot and put leather conditioner on them too! they are horrible. also i tried thick socks and still. i also put moles skin on and that helps some but still a pain in the butt. if you are planning to show in theese and wear them then dont get them! they do look good though, so i gave it a 2 for looks, NOT feel.

Reviewed By: Jenni (Maryland) I bought these boots in April and so far they are holding up pretty well. I needed a tall boot so I could ride in a few schooling shows throughout the year. Dublin is the only company that makes a boot to fit my "fat" calf. I'm 5'2", 130 lbs., not exactly overweight, yet all the other companies design boots for women with legs as big around as my arms. I cannot afford to spend $600+ on custom made boots, so I took a chance with these. They're fairly comfortable. The foot-bed is not too narrow and there is plenty of toe room. I wish the leather was softer, but for only $160 I guess you can't have it all. I've tried several products in an attempt to soften the ankles, but still have to either wear thick socks or band-aids. Walking can be just a little uncomfortable, but they feel great while riding. Overall I'm pleased with my purchase. Good for people who only show occasionally and at lower levels. No signs of wear yet. With proper care they should last a while.
