For proper fit, Dover recommends that you take the time to determine your measurements before you order. Have another person measure your leg for the most accuracy. Half chaps should fit similarly to tall boots and should also come up into the back of your knee at first. When fitted properly, they will be difficult to zip at first, should be uncomfortably tight around the top, and will drop comfortably around your leg as they break in.
When referring to half chap sizing charts, it is important to keep in mind that all half chaps are measured at the widest part of the calf, but each brand measures height differently.
For individual size charts and meaurements, please refer to the "Size Guide" link that appears on the product page.

Reviewed By: Hannah (HI) These are great half chaps. Really good quality for the money... it's amazing. They are sturdy and fit well but my only complaint is that they are TOO tall. I got a Small tall; I am very tall, 5'11, but these were too tall even for me. The back of the chap cuts into the back bend of my knee. I guess you should be at LEAST 6'0 to buy the tall. I have chicken legs so they fit well around my calves. I got a small but could maybe have even gotten an XS as they stretch. Overall, I am very pleased.

Reviewed By: Danielle (New York) I have had these for about three years now and besides for being a little worn-out they are still working great. The only problem is that on of the half chap's zipper snap broke off but i sewed it the best i could back on, it is difficult to sew back on because of the heavy duty material it is made of. But these half chaps really are great.

Reviewed By: Erin (MD) These chaps were great- for about a year. Very comfortable, held up well, and did their job. About a month ago, however, mine stopped working. I can't tell you how, as they look fine except being a bit rubbed down, but all of a sudden i was getting saddle rubs and my legs were bleeding, etc etc. I had to throw them out and invest in the pricier Ariat chaps. For their price, a year of use is reasonable, but just not what I was expecting.
