My first disappointment with this surcingle is the quality of the leather. It's used in small quantity as it is mostly webbing, but the billets are leather is very poor. The billets were cracking before I even used it and continue to crack despite oiling. Still I needed a small surcingle and they are difficult to find, so I'm enduring, but clearly, this item is not going to last. Secondly it's very large for pony equipment. I work with Shetlands and I have to pack a lot of padding under this to keep it on the smaller guys. You might ask them to measure on the shortest and longest setting before purchase? I think better quality from the name Dover and wish they had done better for the price.

I bought this for my 13.2hh pony and it is very big! I have to use extra padding underneath it to make it fit right. It is good quality but one of the leather straps that holds the D rings has ripped on one side. Other than that I use it every day and it works very well for lounging.
