This is NOT pre-tied. It arrives as two flat, perfectly ironed and starched pieces of fabric. I can't figure out how to make it look anything like the picture. It seems like there needs to be a stitch or something to hold the two tails in their crossed position. Big fail Dover, BIG fail!

It took me an hour to figure out how to tie the "pre-tied" stock tie. It came in two pieces which had to be fit together, no instructions. Having no idea what a stock tie was to look like I headed to the internet for instructions. Finally I got the tie to look decent, but I think the design is flawed. If it markets "pre-tied", then it should be. It also doesn't look like the picture even when assembled as shown as the loop is too big. In the end the tie looked nice paired with the snaffle pin I also purchased from Dover. Now that I know what I know, I would probably just buy a real stock tie and spend the hour learning how to tie the real thing rather than a fake. But I'll keep and use this one for now.
