i was very dissapointed when i went to try this on my horse. He is a 16.1 hand thoroughbred with an average length neck, and this was way too short. Another 5" of rope on each side would have been nice. I couldnt even attach the ropes to the martingale, even when when my horse put his head in the corrrect position

As Megan said it was a tad confusing to put together when it was deliverd. I have been using aDe Gouge for a year and a half. I bought this because I was using my trainers and I have had it for a year. It works great! My horse has learned to carry his head in the correct position without using any harsh tools! As I said before I have had it a year and has worked great. I was about to ride today. I put it on and I noticed that the nob that holds the leather around the head piece was gone. I now have to use hay string or a piece of leather to hold the De Gouge on his head piece. Other than that I love it. :)

It was a little confusing to put together when I first received this. The picture doesn't show the elastic cords going through the bit to the martingale rings very well. Once I figured this out it has worked beautifully!! The horses that I work with are in the correct position and push from behind now instead of pulling from the front. It is also very easy to put on or adjust and a versatile training tool! Im so happy to have bought this!!
