Cool Medics products are constructed from a patented three-layer fabric that combines hydrophilic fibers with a fibrous batting core and a thermally conductive lining that provides cooling after being soaked in water up to a minute. The water activates the cooling process by charging the fibers with moisture to create an environment for evaporation. When moisture in the batting core evaporates, heat is removed and it cools the surrounding area by transferring the cooling effect to the injured area on the horse. Cooling can last up to 8 hours and be easily reactivated.
