Great Variety

I bought this as my first bridle, and never regretted it. The Full Size fits two of the three horses I commonly ride, and one I used to. One is a short QH, the next is a 17.2 hand Selle with a long, skinny face, and the last is a 16ish hand horse with one of the largest heads on the farm: width and length wise. The only one it didn't fit was a pony, and only just barely. The brown looks great on blacks and bay's, and I'm constantly getting compliments on it. I use it for weekly schooling, and wouild use it in the show ring, but it doesn't match my new saddle (black). I"ve found that even after a month or two of not cleaning or oiling, its still supple and doens't show the dirt much. However, after a good cleaning, it looked good as new! I only clean it once every two-three weeks, and have had no troubles with it, though I ride in the hot Louisiana weather, with plenty of sweating horses. I also am a fan of the laced reins, but that is a personal thing.

I love my bridle. It is very stylish... perfect for my very fashionable mare! I ordered the QH size for her because she is very refined and has a very fine, Arabian style head, and the sizing was perfect. She looked amazing, and it broke in nicely, as my old Courbette bridle took forever. She loves it and it is fancy enough for the show ring and durable enough to school in. I love the stitching and the beautiful leather. Amazing, high-quality leather and AWESOME PRICE... for such high quality bridlework.

This bridle has lasted through three of my horses: a Canadian Warmblood, a Quarter Horse, and a Thoroughbred. Keep in mind- these horses had very different head sizes. It has held up very well and continued to look great. This is well worth the price. I wish i would still have it. My Thoroughbred pulled away from me, taking my reins, spooking himself, and stepped in his reins. He broke most of the parts of the bridle, so we decided to just buy a new one. Great bridle. I recommend it.

For a properly fitted bridle, a caveson noseband should sit just below the horse's cheekbones - generally no more than the width of 2 fingers from the bottom of the cheekbone to the top of the noseband (this does not apply to drop or figure 8 nosebands). Figure 8 nosebands should sit above the bottom of the cheek bone only if they have a ring that allows movement connecting the noseband to the cheek piece. The browband should never be gaping or flopping. Click Here for more information and examples.

Properly adjusted cheek pieces will cause the bit to create two gentle wrinkles at the corner of the mouth on each side. Cheek piece buckles should generally be at the level of a horse's eye, and on a bridle that fits a horse's head very well, all buckles will generally be at the same level as each other. These cheek piece guidelines are just a suggestion, as finding a perfect fit on all horses is near impossible. Multiple holes are given on cheek pieces to allow for vast adjustment. Some horses can be difficult to fit in a stock size bridle. For this reason, additional bridle pieces can be bought in a variety of sizes and it is never a problem to mix and match sizes of individual pieces to get the proper fit.
