How to Measure Your Horse and Fit your Blanket

The fit of your blanket is extremely important to the comfort of your horse. Improperly fitting blankets can cause rubbing and slippage. To find blanket size, measure distance from center of the chest, across the point of the shoulder, and to the center of the tail. Many blankets are sized in two or three inch increments, so choose the closest size available.

Care of Your Blanket

Blankets should be cleaned annually. First, remove excess dirt with a brush or hose, then wash by hand or on a delicate cool water cycle. Use very mild soap. Allow to drip dry. Do not put blankets in the dryer as this will damage the waterproof coating and void any warranties.

I bought this sheet in Fall 2009 and I have been very happy with it. I realize i probably needed a 72 instead of a 74. I have a haflinger who has a large chest and neck, but is shorter chest to tail, thus many blankets that fit lenghtwise do not fit depth and the straps are not long enough. However the Baker Sheet's strapes are long enough. My horse likes to roll, and rub herself against trees and wooden posts. My horse is currently turned out 24/7 in a field and keeps the sheet on 24/7. The sheet so far has not torn (Jan 2010), and remains water proof. Heavy rain will get in along the neck (probably would be better in a smaller size) but the rest of the horse stayed dry and clean. I have never had the sheet twist. Straps have elastic in them for a little give. The lining helps polish the coat. Velcro at front has not lasted too well, but this could be a size issue with my horse. I think the sheet runs true to size, and I would recomend ordering the size that your horse measures. I highly recommend this product, and i am planning on getting a second sheet for a second horse.

This sheet is amazing! This is the third season I've had this sheet and still looks brand new! no lose threads,tears or fading! My horse has never gotten wet with this sheet on yet! So far its held up better than all the more expensive blankets at the barn! This is one tough attractive looking sheet! I love it

I cannot recommend this turnout sheet because it only lasted one season for us. The straps tore off and my horse is not a pasture horse that stays out all the time. I will need to purchase a different brand this year and hopefully one that will last more that one season.
