I have had my Concord half chaps for 7 months and the leather on the outer part of the leg (away from the horse) has started to pull away from the panel near the zipper. I am disappointed to have to return them because it's an inconvenience and I like riding in these chaps, but Dover is sending me another pair. I love the look and feel of this product, but would like to see Ariat be more careful about their design/production. I've read similar reviews on other products by Ariat (especially zipper issues) and expect more for the price.

For proper fit, Dover recommends that you take the time to determine your measurements before you order. Have another person measure your leg for the most accuracy. Half chaps should fit similarly to tall boots and should also come up into the back of your knee at first. When fitted properly, they will be difficult to zip at first, should be uncomfortably tight around the top, and will drop comfortably around your leg as they break in.
When referring to half chap sizing charts, it is important to keep in mind that all half chaps are measured at the widest part of the calf, but each brand measures height differently.
