These boots are beautiful, and look great for showing. However, for me, as an everyday boot, not so much. I ride about 5 days a week, and after a year of that I found that the zippers in these are very unreliable. Yesterday, I went to put on my left boot before getting onto my horse for a horse show, and not only did the tab on the zipper break off, the zipper split. I had already had the zipper repared. This is not what I expect for Ariat boots. They are expensive and have excellent quality leather, so why not put good zippers in the boots as well? I don't get it. If you want to buy these as strictly show boots, do it. Otherwise, maybe look into something else, unless you are someone who plans on cleaning out your zipper and waxing it after every ride.

As my first pair of tall boots, I really didn't know what to expect! I picked up a pair of these boots at a great deal at my local tack store- $200! So far they have been great! The leather is beautiful, the zipper works really well and they look fantastic! Much better than getting pull on boots! They do take time to work in, like most everything else does! Make sure to keep these clean and they'll last a while! I'd also make sure to get some sort of lubricant for the zipper, so that lasts as long as the leather will!

BEST BOOTS EVER. These are my first tall boots, and after trying on other pairs, these were by far the best. they have the ATS thing so there is no need to break them in (except for the "drop") and they fit me perfectly! (I'm petite)
For proper fit, Dover recommends that you take the time to determine your measurements before you order. Have another person measure your leg for the most accuracy. Properly fitted tall boots will, at first, be uncomfortably tight around the top of the boot and should come up into the back of your knee. They should be difficult to pull on and off or zip up. As they break in, they will drop comfortably around your leg.
When referring to tall boot sizing charts, it is important to keep in mind that all tall boots are measured at the widest part of the calf, but each brand measures height differently.
How to Measure for Tall Boots:
1. Wear the clothing (breeches, tights, socks, etc.) you are most likley to wear with your boots.
2. Sit in a straight chair with feet flat on the floor and knees at a 90 degree angle.
3. Measure calf around the widest part, and measure height from the floor to back of the knee.
4. Add 1 1/2" - 2" to measured height to allow for drop as your boots break in.
