For proper fit, Dover recommends that you take the time to determine your measurements before you order. Have another person measure your leg for the most accuracy. Half chaps should fit similarly to tall boots and should also come up into the back of your knee at first. When fitted properly, they will be difficult to zip at first, should be uncomfortably tight around the top, and will drop comfortably around your leg as they break in.

When referring to half chap sizing charts, it is important to keep in mind that all half chaps are measured at the widest part of the calf, but each brand measures height differently.

I can't say enough good things about these chaps. I was very hasitent about ordering them because i don't like ordering sized items online, in a fear they wont fit. (I tend to be hard to fit.) These fit perfectly, better than my custom chaps. I wanted/needed another pair of chaps because I ride in two places and hate carring my things back and forth. I still carry my things back and forth because i don't want to put my other ones on. These chaps completly break the rule that you get what you pay for.

I love these chaps! they have lasted me well over 2 years and there just now starting to show sings of wear. I do ride almost day and some times more than one horse. They fit amazing really do feel like a "second skin". they fit great over jeans and breeches. I will be buying a 2nd pair once these wear out.

These are the BEST FITTING chaps I've ever had, however, THREE pairs in and the neoprene/leather lining has ripped yet again! Each pair I wore for about a month and the rips began! Awful awful craftsmanship BUT truely the most well fitting and comfortable chaps I've owned. The snaps don't snap either : ( Ariat needs to focus more on details!
