I bought this to use when my mare was overdue for her dental work, and I didn't want to use a bit. The only problem I had was the curb strap was too large. So, if you have a cob size horse, it might be a good idea to have an extra curb strap on hand. But the padding is really nice and I had a lot of compliments and questions about it when I was using it.

I bought this several years ago for an extremely parrot-mouthed Saddlebred colt who was green broke for road riding. He did so well in this that I now use it on any horse who's remotely sane on the roads, including my current Saddlebred colt who's quite spooky. They're just so much happier without a bit. For more spirited horses, I use a tougher hackamore, but this one is usually all I need. I can even gait my horses with it. The workmanship and materials are excellent quality.
