I bought this several years ago for an extremely parrot-mouthed Saddlebred colt who was green broke for road riding. He did so well in this that I now use it on any horse who's remotely sane on the roads, including my current Saddlebred colt who's quite spooky. They're just so much happier without a bit. For more spirited horses, I use a tougher hackamore, but this one is usually all I need. I can even gait my horses with it. The workmanship and materials are excellent quality.

Due to a massive amount of dental work needing to be done on my rescued thoroughbred, I could not use a bit, and tried this instead. It works so well, and my horse is SO happy with it. He listens just fine, and it looks a lot nicer than the sidepulls I had tried using too. One thing i might suggest if you buy this, also pick up some darkening oil. The picture shows it a tad darker than it really is, which did not match my dark brown tack.
