Ivermectin is a high quality dewormer that has little to no resistance problems with internal parasites in equines. It works great in a rotation program (based on egg count, number of horses, environment, region of the country). It is inexpensive with little to no side effects. It should be rotated with pyrantel and a broad spectrum dewormer with the praziquantel in it. Highly recommended and better than most dewormers on the market.

Ivermectin is still an effective wormer that does most worms although does not have the residual effect of some the newer drugs. This product is very cost effective (we pay 10 times this for a similar thing in NZ!) and great to rotate with other more wide spectrum wormers. Definately has its place and I always grab a few when visiting the US!!

My vet said that this isn't the best and to use Quest, Equimax, or something that fights against more types of worms. But I still keep a couple of these around for when money is tight. Also my horses don't mind the taste of this one, unlike Quest. I figure, if you are on a budget, it is better to give this than nothing.
